So, while one certainly can be a faithful member and view the flood as a limited, local event, is it still okay to believe that the flood was global, even after I’ve read all of the arguments to the contrary?

Sure. As there is also room for those who don’t think there was a historical flood at all.
But!
It’s always advisable to be able to support and argue for why one believes the way they do.
